(Emerging from Dando Luz - giving birth in Spanish)
The mother volcano vomits lava, creating landscapes that do not yet exist. The volcano is instinct, too. We proposes that the volcano is a mother that births lava, from which new narratives may emerge from its ashes. The volcano in this case is also a healer that restores damage.
In this article, the artists wish to explore the texture and language of volcanoes, like molten rock, eroded lines, lava, fire, and ashes; while also exploring the feminine and mother archetypes through poems, written excerpts, burned letters, and ashes.

The story follows a raw, intimate and vulnerable journey of a collective of women who undergo a ritual of purification guided by a being who merges with the volcano. The ritual is an invitation healing through burning. The artists present the documentation of this journey through analog photography, poems both from the women and volcano, maps from the motherland.
