Rewilding, within Cruda’s practice, means to embrace precarious cycles such as collapse, death, hybridity, rebirth into the way we produce and speculate with knowledge(s). Re-wilding means to activate the wilderness, playfulness and the glitches within storytelling &amp; mythology. Through this, they dance with and activate other worlds and voices, such as landscapes, elements and monsters. Cruda aims to re-configure the linear conditions, and inhabit a hybrid ecosystem of symbiosis and emergence. Limina is a plural form of the word Limen, which in Latin means thresholds, crossings and gateways. The film explores the speculative powers of liminal states, particularly those of death and dreams in relation to how stories, history and records are created. The film brings into question the fundamental ‘logic’ of linear storytelling and causality, by presenting a 3-channel narrative that fuses 3 different spaces the character experiences (reality plane, dream plane and the afterlife plane). I engage with symbolic references from Ancient Egypt and Mesoamerican culture to unfold a multi-layered and nomadic story about genesis. This sci-fi film follows the story of Limina, a wanderer who is in her journey of consciousness while simultaneously undergoing a journey of death in the afterlife, guided by her dead self. Each character is inspired by animals, whom have very specific roles within the mythologies of death, re-birth and the afterlife. Limina, the Serpent, inspired from Coatlicue, a Mesoamerican diety. Death is the raven, a psychopomp, one who escorts souls into the afterlife. The film in of itself, I would say is a liminal space, which I use as testament to the elasticity of what genesis means and history-telling. PicardiLocation: Reykjavík, Iceland.&nbsp; (Emerging from Dando Luz - giving birth in Spanish) The mother volcano vomits lava, creating landscapes that do not yet exist. The volcano is instinct, too. We proposes that the volcano is a mother that births lava, from which new narratives may emerge from its ashes. The volcano in this case is also a healer that restores damage. In this article, the artists wish to explore the texture and language of volcanoes, like molten rock, eroded lines, lava, fire, and ashes; while also exploring the feminine and mother archetypes through poems, written excerpts, burned letters, and ashes. The story follows a raw, intimate and vulnerable journey of a collective of women who undergo a ritual of purification guided by a being who merges with the volcano. The ritual is an invitation healing through burning. The artists present the documentation of this journey through analog photography, poems both from the women and volcano, maps from the motherland. The monolith represents a gate or portal, placed by the vending machines in Kardinge Ice Rink in Groningen as part of Once Upon A Time exhibition. The placement of the monolith intends to interrupt the current space. Indeed, the monolith together with the film and sound, attempt to rupture the current physical time and space, by alluring you towards a gateway into another world, asking you to listen. The film speculates the story of an ancient messenger by awakening their messages carried through time. This ancient messenger ice skated to transport messages as quickly as possible, as these communicated an array of warnings, and oracles about our society’s future encounters. The film installation begs the audience to question their human-centric position in the world and tune into alternative bodies within the multiverse and embody a hybrid way of existing. Hence, the name of the film, Mercury Surface: it is a reference to the messenger God in Roman mythology, as well as NASA’s robotic Messenger used to map 40% of Mercury’s surface, another planet outside our understandings of Earth. There is a whole subpage on Reddit that goes into how caves, for many people, trigger horrific fears like darkness, isolation, depth, fear of getting lost, the unknown, a place where your mind plays tricks on you. However, this project attempts to change the perception of caves and approach these spaces as a place of birthing, and speculation. The purpose of this approach is to render acts of narrating history more fluid and less sedentary as normally presented. History isn’t set in stone, and much like the walls of the caves, it is always changing. These histories are meant to be touched and experienced, and in this way, embodying a hybrid logic of time, space, and story. The short film, The Creature that Crawls in The Underground Skies, travels through webs of realities etched into the limestone walls, while the audience is listening to an official tour story narrated by Jo, an official Maastricht Caves tour guide. Alongside Jo’s voice is that of the fictional monster, the Cavus Reptilia,Latin for cave reptile. This creature speaks in notes, and chords about dreams, death, and rebirth to reveal the various potentials of coming into being. I decided to uncover this relation through the narrative of a taxi driver who maps the city in which he drives through, not only mapping buildings and roads, but also mapping stories of love, death, poetry and space. I believe these testimonies form a large part of the bigger scheme of stories. In this case, stories and memories form part of the cartographic landscape that the film aims to present. The question was how would cartographic practices be shaped if memories, feelings, experiences and dreams were included as part of its formation? This film revealed the beginning of my collage-based language, my twisted tongue slurring stories rather than telling them linearly. The film intercuts through parts, starting with Onda, the cartographer who begins dialogue with the taxi driver, who almost immediately becomes the protagonist of the film. Towards the end, he meets the aerial sailor, the sky driver: the pilot, whom he has to drive to the airport. The taxi driver and pilot begin to share a conversation about their professions. This moves the idea of cartography as an intimate land-relation, to a bigger scale and scope including the skies, clouds and cosmos. In response, she made a short video essay that takes the viewer along a walk in her childhood compound in Cairo, Egypt. To grapple with the theme of future justice, it slowly revealed the importance of movement. Movement not only being a physical change or action, but a fundamental aspect of dissecting futurity. To think with movement and fluidity constructs a far more compelling speculation about the future that includes care.
